Ting Zhang

I am currently an Associate Professor in Statistics at the University of Georgia. Before joining the University of Georgia, I was Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Statistics Program at Boston University. I also spent two years at The University of Iowa as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science. I obtained my Ph.D. in Statistics from The University of Chicago in 2012, and was jointly advised by Professor Wei Biao Wu and Professor Lars Peter Hansen. I graduated with a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Fudan University in 2007.

I am an Elected Member of the International Statistical Institute (ISI). I have been serving on the Editorial Board of Statistica Sinica as an Associate Editor since 2020. I was also elected to serve as the secretary for the American Statistical Association (ASA) Georgia Chapter in 2023.

I was on the Scientific Programme Committee of the 7th International Conference on Econometrics and Statistics (EcoSta 2024) and a co-organizer for the 2016 BU-Keio Workshop. I have chaired or organized sessions for the BU-Keio-Tsinghua Workshop, the International Conference on Econometrics and Statistics (EcoSta), the Georgia Statistics Day, the New England Statistics Symposium (NESS), and the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM). I was also on the local organizing committee for StatFest 2018, an initiative of the American Statistical Association (ASA) through its Committee on Minorities in Statistics, to promote the role of underrepresented groups.
